Journey into a world often unexplored ... a mesmerising, retrospective look into a life that has brought isolation, loneliness, spirituality -- and most of all love. Simple, poignant stories, told in thought-provoking style and with enlightening mystical tones, evoke the spectrum of human emotion. Political in form, and wide open in its views and opinions, 'A Gathering of Angels' offers a unique perspective from a man challenged by society to seek new dimensions within the larger human drama. A story of failure and triumph, sadness and great hope, the book speaks clearly of how experiences shape our lives and influence who we become and who we are as a whole. Bold and unapologetic, provocative and tender, this is an intimate gay life story.

In A Miracle for St. Cecilia?s, Katherine Valentine created a charming Connecticut town where ordinary people experience extraordinary things. Now in A Gathering of Angels the citizens of Dorsetville continue to discover the daily wonders of faith. While Father Flaherty toys with taking up kickboxing to trim his growing waistline, another town expansion proves more ominous: Barry Hornibrook, driven to build a riverfront hotel, turns to questionable sources for desperately needed money. But this is Dorsetville, where anything is possible?and by the time this beguiling tale is over, a tragic fire, a German shepherd, and an influx of dentists will all play a role in changing the community forever. Full of delightful surprises, A Gathering of Angels proves to be another heart- warming tale of hope.

Gusta believes that the war is over, but nothing could be further from the truth. As the Keruh fight a bloody rearguard action in an attempt to delay the advancing Androktones, Didi, Gusta and Kiki, and the other Edenite survivors in Jutlam City, at last come under the protection of the Ambassador. But the Ambassador's representative is large, silver, with a mouth-full of teeth. The drone, El-Quan is as confused by her charges as they are scared of her, but there are worse dangers ahead, and they aren't all Keruh. Yan-Jai is the largest drone on Eden and she no longer cares who she kills, friend or foe. And the distinction between friend and foe is becoming decidedly blurred. Even the Ambassador himself is increasingly unsure, or so his actions would suggest. The battle in space has also reached another phase as Aeolus tries to control the Klysanthian captains now in his 'flock.' And the most stubborn of these is Pantariste, Captain of the Queen Of Angels. She baits Aeolus at every opportunity. But behind her shield of arrogance and obstinacy, Pantariste only wants to survive with her ship and her pride intact. To improve liaisons, Lysippe is sent aboard the Prometheus. But this brings other problems. Peleus, the First Officer on the Prometheus, is drawn to Lysippe, and she in her grief is drawn to him. It is a love that soon burns brightly but must be short-lived. In the running battles that follow, the Prometheus receives a fatal hit, and a race begins to save the crew as the ship begins to tear itself apart. The Friendly Ambassador is a four part galactic epic that mixes Science-Fiction with Greek Mythology and the legend of Atlantis.

The Angel Chronicles Books I-VThe Guardian Angelsby the Angel Auberon "The Angel Chronicles tells the romantic tale of the beginning of human life and of the angels ́ concern for human beings that resulted in their forming an assembly of Guardian Angels. If you believe in angels, all the better. But, even if you do not believe in angels, and see them only as a symbol of beauty and perfection, you will want to read this book. In the context of an enchanting story beautifully told you will find many insights into human psychology and the human spirit. This unusual and inspiring book is a must for everyone." Hemmings P.G. Knight*** "The Angel Chronicles is magic. It is a small book of big believing...it can change your life." Micheline Renauld*** The Angel Chronicles Books I-VThe Guardian Angels by the Angel Auberon *** Auberon ́s Words of Introduction At the very beginning God asked the Angel Auberon, the most noble of the Principalities, to chronicle the events of all time. Auberon did as he was asked. In the year 2001 Auberon requested permission to come to Earth to tell his story. Auberon came to us at The White Notebook (R) Library, entrusting us with the story he wished to give to those who lived on Earth. The story he left behind is one of love and of angel beneficence. It is entitled The Angel Chronicles. In his book, Auberon describes how the world was created, how human life on Earth began and how the angels forever found ways to make a meaningful contribution to human beings. We at The White Notebook felt that Auberon left us with not only his words but with a greater respect for our potential as human beings, with intelligent optimism and, for many of us, a return to hopefulness. *** We have listed for you below the Table of Contents and synopsis related to Book I. Book I The Primary Angels The Existence of Angels God Creates the Earth Silvond Names the Constellations The Twin Angels The Assignment of Guardian Angels The Guardian Angels According to Day of Birth The Angels in Guardiance of Domestic Pets The Primary Angels God decided that the time had come to create a universe of worlds. In it would be a planet called Earth. God sent the angels out from their home in the beyondness for He had decided that the Earth would be sung into existence by them. The angels set to begin their work. Their finely feathered wings carried them in flight until they reached the center of the vast space of time. There they stopped. They breathed their beautiful breaths as they looked about and considered what they were to accomplish. The angels first sang into existence the planets and stars and the sun and the moon. They next sang their angel music until the Earth was made. All things upon the Earth the angels next sang into being, the mountains and rivers, and also the variety of creatures God wished to inhabit the Earth. In this way the entire physical world emanated from purely spiritual beings: God and His angel emissaries. The angels thought they might rest. But Michael the Archangel came to them in a dream to remind them that they were also to sing into life the most wondrous of all creatures, the human beings. The angels were astonished. Nonetheless, they sang the most beautiful of alleluias and human beings were brought into existence. When the angels saw the first human beings walk about the Earth, they fell in love. It was inevitable that the angels would fall in l

Angels and saints. Catholics tend to think of them as different from the rest of us. They’re cast in plaster or simpering on a holy card, performing miracles with superhero strength, or playing a harp in highest heaven. Yet they are very near to us in every way. In this lively book, Scott Hahn dispels the false notions and urban legends people use to keep the saints at a safe distance. The truth is that Jesus Christ has united heaven and earth in a close communion. Drawing deeply from Scripture, Dr. Hahn shows that the hosts of heaven surround the earthly Church as a "great cloud of witnesses." The martyrs cry out from heaven’s altar begging for justice on the earth. The prayers of the saints and angels rise to God, in the Book of Revelation, like the sweet aroma of incense. Dr. Hahn tells the stories of several saints (and several angels too) in a way that’s fresh and new. The saints are spiritual giants but with flesh-and-blood reality. They have strong, holy ambitions—and powerful temptations and opposition that must be overcome. Their stories are amazing and yet familiar enough to motivate us to live more beautiful lives. In this telling of their story, the saints are neither otherworldly nor this-worldly. They exemplify the integrated life that every Christian is called to live. Still, their lives are as different from one another as human lives can be. Dr. Hahn shows the heavenly Church in all its kaleidoscopic diversity—from Moses to Mary, Augustine to Therese, and the first century to the last century. Only saints will live in heaven. We need to be more like the saints if we want to live in heaven someday. Dr. Hahn shows us that our heavenly life can begin now. It must.

The only author already in print discussing the history of higher angels appears to be Mother Alexandra, an Orthodox nun who wrote The Holy Angels. This presentation also concentrates on those higher angels but also briefly reviews those lower less dramatic guardian angels. After studying angel apparitions in the Old Testament, the Christian era presents a dramatic increase in angel activities. Joining the older traditional Michael and Gabriel, we are introduced, at the Transfiguration, to Moses and Elijah, those two giants of Judaism These latter have, somewhere in time, become new archangels. On that Mount Tabor, Jesus also acquires archangel status, when the mighty spirit of David, the third giant, completes exactly one thousand years of penance, and is transfigured into this carpenter from Nazareth. Mary, the Mother of Angels in the Roman Catholic tradition, receives archangel status upon her death. Also emerging in that first Christian century is Satan, the Fallen Archangel. A serious consideration of Satan is vital, because each one of us must overcome Satan’s earthly temptations in order to reach the Promised Land. Thereafter, Mary and Jesus appear in angel form over the Christian centuries – sometimes together, more often alone - in their attempt to bring peace to a troubled world..

Based on historical characters and events, A Gathering of Finches tells the story of a turn-of-the-century Oregon coastal couple and the consequences of their choices, as seen through the eyes of the wife, her sister, and her Indian maid. Along the way, the reader will discover reasons to trust that money and possessions can't buy happiness or forgiveness, nor permit us to escape the consequences of our choices. The story emphasizes the message that real meaning is found in the relationships we nurture and in living our lives in obedience to God.

In this first volume of his magisterial study of the foundations of Mormon thought and practice, Terryl L. Givens offers a sweeping account of Mormon belief from its founding to the present day. Situating the relatively new movement in the context of the Christian tradition, he reveals that Mormonism continues to change and grow. Givens shows that despite Mormonism's origins in a biblical culture strongly influenced by nineteenth-century Restorationist thought, which advocated a return to the Christianity of the early Church, the new movement diverges radically from the Christianity of the creeds. Mormonism proposes its own cosmology and metaphysics, in which human identity is rooted in a premortal world as eternal as God. Mormons view mortal life as an enlightening ascent rather than a catastrophic fall, and reject traditional Christian concepts of human depravity and destiny. Popular fascination with Mormonism's social innovations, such as polygamy and communalism, and its supernatural and esoteric elements-angels, gold plates, seer stones, a New World Garden of Eden, and sacred undergarments-have long overshadowed the fact that it is the most enduring and even thriving product of the nineteenth century's religious upheavals and innovations. Wrestling the Angel traces the essential contours of Mormon thought from the time of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young to the contemporary LDS church, illuminating both the seminal influence of the founding generation of Mormon thinkers and the significant developments in the church over almost 200 years. The most comprehensive account of the development of Mormon thought ever written, Wrestling the Angel will be essential reading for anyone seeking to understand the Mormon faith.

In the 1990s alone, more than 400 works on angels have been published, adding to an already burgeoning genre. Throughout the centuries angels have been featured in, among others, theological works on scripture; studies in comparative religions; works on art, architecture and music; philosophical, sociological, anthropological, archeological and psychological works; and even a book length psychoanalytical study of the implications that our understanding of angels has for our understanding of sexual differences. Access to the multitude of angelic works is simplified with this bibliography, which lists 4,355 works, arranged alphabetically by author. Each entry contains a source for the reference, often a Library of Congress call number followed by the name of a university that holds the work. Key words pertaining to the works are included when available, and over 750 of the entries are annotated. Extensive indexes to names, subjects and centuries provide further utility.
